MALAYSIA’S position as the world’s healthcare marvel was further cemented at the Global Health Asia Pacific Awards 2020, where the Ministry of Health won 26 awards this year, including in the ‘Stellar Covid-19 Achievement of the Year’ category.
Receiving this award, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba noted that, “This recognition is truly for our dedicated and committed frontliners who have sacrificed time and effort as they held the fort in managing the pandemic and keeping us safe. To all of them, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.”
Adding to his gratitude towards all frontliners, the Health Minister reiterated Malaysia’s capability and philosophy of unity which has kept the nation thriving during these uncertain times.
“2020 has truly demonstrated the strength and resilience of Malaysia’s healthcare system amid a global pandemic. As a nation, we have come together, authorities, frontliners and citizens, to protect the country and keep the nation as safe as possible,” he added.
Apart from gaining recognition for Malaysia’s outstanding performance in managing the pandemic, Malaysian leaders and leading healthcare institutions made a sweep of wins at the awards.
This year marks the fifth installation of the awards organised by Global Health and Travel.
The awards recognises the commitment of healthcare travel players in the Asia Pacific region who have demonstrated consistent standards in healthcare delivery and patient experience.
The awards’ judging process employs a methodology comprising a consumer survey, panel of industry experts, fulfilment of a predetermined judging criteria, market research reports, as well as Global Health Asia Pacific’s expert knowledge.
Malaysia’s world-class quality, easily accessible, and affordable healthcare continues to be commended by international bodies amidst the global pandemic.
It was one of the countries that demonstrated the best Covid-19 response as recognised by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Malaysia also reclaimed the coveted ‘Destination of the Year’ and ‘Cluster of the Year’ titles, each for the fourth time at the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) Medical Travel Awards 2020 in London. – The Vibes, November 26, 2020
