KUALA LUMPUR – CapsuleTransit, yesterday launched its first capsule hotel, CapsuleTransit Terminal 1 (Landside) Airport Hotel at KLIA Terminal 1, in an event officiated by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook – a unique and convenient accommodation experience to domestic and international travellers.
“We have come a long way since the inception of our first CapsuleTransit in 2014. Today, we open yet another chapter as we proudly unveil our latest endeavor of 24 pods at KLIA Terminal 1. This launch is a testament to our commitment to welcoming travellers from all around the world with our renowned Malaysian hospitality, and we strive to position Malaysia as the key destination in Asia,” said Ryan Loo, CEO of CapsuleTransit.
Standing at 650 square feet, the hotel houses 24 capsule pods which are meticulously designed to optimise space and ensure maximum comfort for guests. Each capsule is equipped with essential amenities such as USB charging ports, power sockets, a digital door lock, sound insulation, a make up mirror and adjustable lighting for a comfortable and personalised environment. The hotel also provides amenity kits and complimentary Wi-Fi access.
Established in 2014 in conjunction with KLIA Terminal 2’s opening, CapsuleTransit began its journey with a modest offering of only 79 beds. Over the years, the company has expanded its footprint to meet the growing demand for airport accommodations.
By 2018, CapsuleTransit had increased its bed capacity to 204 in KLIA Terminal 2 (Landside), followed by an additional 70 beds in KLIA Terminal 2 (Airside) by 2019.
In June, CapsuleTransit further expanded its presence with the introduction of 24 beds in KLIA Terminal 1 (Landside), providing a comfortable resting place for weary travellers. Going into 2024, CapsuleTransit will expand and add 50 premium beds, a lounge, a spa and gym facilities in KLIA Terminal 2 (Landside).
In anticipation of Visit Malaysia 2025, CapsuleTransit will continue to work closely with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) by adding approximately 200 beds, further enhancing the accommodation options made available for travelers. – The Vibes, June 27, 2023
