PROTON management are smiling right now with the rising bookings for their X50 Crossover. Priced between RM97,000 and RM103,000 it represents great value motoring for Malaysians.

Its nearest rivals right now are the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V.

With bookings for the X50 surpassing 20,000 units, deliveries are moving a little slower than expected due to parts shipment and logistic issues.

Bookings Can Change

So, if a new rival arrives soon, this could affect the bookings of the X50. Malaysians who have paid a booking fee and are not patient to wait the 5-6 months’ delivery time might start looking elsewhere for an alternative which offers near similar features and pricing.

Yes, the national car status that Geely and Proton currently enjoys allows their selling price to be unbeatable. So, rivals will still be 10-20% more expensive.
