THE government has decided not to continue with the Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) project, said government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil.
The decision, he said, followed the concessionaire’s failure to fulfil six of 11 conditions set by Putrajaya.
"The Cabinet decided today not to continue discussions with PJD Link.
"They have applied for an extension to fulfil several conditions precedent, but this has been declined by the Cabinet," he said.
Fahmi said the Works Ministry would be issuing a statement detailing the matter soon.
The PJD Link was a proposed 25.4km dual-lane elevated expressway connecting Damansara to Bandar Kinrara in Selangor.
The PJD Link was approved by the previous federal government under the prime ministership of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in April 2022.
On July 31 last year, the then caretaker Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari had announced the decision to scrap the project. – The Vibes, April 17, 2024.
