KUALA LUMPUR – A 35-year-old e-hailing driver was charged at the sessions court here today with causing grievous hurt to a businessman last week.
Oh Kay Yap is accused of ramming his car into Pat Wen Liang, 31, at a Grab passenger pickup spot at the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan in Cheras at about 9.30pm on December 9. Pat broke his leg in the incident.
Oh claimed trial to the charge, which was read out to him before judge Mahyon Talib.
The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, provides an imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping or fine upon conviction.
The judge allowed Oh bail of RM9,000 in one surety and ordered him to not intimidate the victim. Oh must also report himself to the nearest police station on the first day of every month.
