POLICE have arrested the driver of a tour bus that overturned, killing two passengers, in Jalan Genting-Bentong, New Straits Times reports.
Bentong district police chief Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the 32-year-old man was detained last night for four days.
Yesterday Zaiham said the driver did not have a driving licence and had 27 traffic summonses on his record.
Two Chinese nationals were killed and several others injured after the tour bus landed on its side while travelling downhill.
The two men who died on the spot were believed to have been trapped in their seats in the 10.40am crash at KM16.5 of the road.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Wan Mohamad Zaidi Wan Isa said the two deceased suffered head injuries.
"Their bodies were sent to Bentong Hospital, Pahang," he said. – June 30, 2024.
