The planned confidence-and-supply agreement (CSA) is said to support Budget 2027 and constituency allocations - October 29, 2026

THIRTEEN suspended Bersatu MPs are expected to be left out of a planned confidence-and-supply agreement (CSA) signing with the MADANI government this afternoon, with Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin saying they had received no invitation.

“No invitation, no information. I think the 13 Bersatu MPs who were suspended were not called to attend the CSA signing ceremony,” she told Berita Harian.

The agreement is expected to formalise the commitment of several Bersatu MPs to support the 2027 Supply Bill, with the signing scheduled to take place at Parliament in the presence of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The arrangement is also expected to enable the participating MPs to receive special allocations for their respective constituencies next year.

Mas Ermieyati, a former Bersatu Srikandi chief, was suspended from the party for two terms, or six years, in March over alleged breaches of the party constitution and code of conduct.

The suspension notice she shared cited a breach of Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution and the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Members.

Earlier, a group of Bersatu MPs  said they are expected to sign a CSA with the MADANI government this afternoon, pledging support for Budget 2027 in a move that could signal a new political understanding ahead of the Melaka state election on Nov 14.

A source said that the signing ceremony would be held at Parliament and attended by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman.

The agreement is understood to involve only several Bersatu MPs and could enable participating lawmakers to receive special allocations for their respective constituencies next year.

A CSA typically involves a commitment to support a government in confidence matters and supply votes, including the budget, without necessarily joining the administration.

Bersatu is reported to have 19 MPs remaining after six lost their party membership in 2024 and another six were expelled between October 2025 and February 2026.

Those expected to sign the agreement are reportedly aligned with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin. They include Langkawi MP Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah and Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin.

The development comes amid continuing turmoil within Bersatu. The party previously expelled several MPs, including Larut MP Hamzah Zainudin, Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob, Padang Rengas MP Azahari Hasan and Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan.

The expelled lawmakers have since joined or supported Wawasan Negara (WAWASAN), a party led by Hamzah and launched in June.

The reported agreement could point to an emerging understanding between some Bersatu lawmakers and parties in the governing coalition, with the Melaka election approaching.

In 2021, the government led by then prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Transformation and Political Stability with the opposition bloc at Parliament.

That agreement covered six areas, including the COVID-19 recovery plan, administrative transformation and parliamentary reform, judicial independence, the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the establishment of a steering committee. -  October 29, 2026
