The circular urged Malaysians to defer or postpone trips to the province for now due to the nasty weather, where flash flooding was reported in many districts.

"Malaysians who are caught up in the floods should take cognisance of the details, remain alert and follow the public announcements from the local authorities."

This will help them maintain their public safety and security following the emergence of floods there, said the consulate in a statement.

Malaysians who require help in southern Thailand can contact the consulate duty officer extension at +6693 - 6570707.
