Khairy allegedly made the claim on his Keluar Sekejap podcast - January 11, 2025

A POLICE report was lodged against Khairy Jamaluddin over his comments accusing Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said of conspiring to conceal a royal addendum for Datuk Seri Najib Razak's house arrest.

The report was lodged by Azalina's political secretary, Datuk Suraya Yaacob at the Sentul police station yesterday.

Suraya said that Khairy’s alleged statement was not only false but had also smeared Azalina’s image.

The report was also spotted on social media.

Suraya asked police to investigate the former Health Minister promptly and that the use of the word "conspiracy" was excessive as it implied involvement in illegal or unethical acts.

Khairy allegedly made the claim on his Keluar Sekejap podcast, which he co-hosts with former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan.

Meanwhile, former law minister, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim said Khairy was entitled to freedom of speech and there is nothing that constitutes an offence.

"Khairy is a responsible citizen entitled to an opinion on the matter. Free speech, ok,” he said in a social media post.

He said if Azalina felt the statements had tarnished her reputation, she could sue Khairy for defamation instead. - January 11, 2025
