THE Sarawak government must not allow Dr Zakir Naik to enter the state as the controversial preacher is ramping up his radical rhetorics against non-Muslims yet again, said Sarawakian human rights activist Peter John Jaban.
Peter, who is also deputy president of Malaysia Global Human Rights Federation, claimed that Zakir is ramping up his attacks on people of other races and religions in the peninsula states.
"Of late, Zakir has ramped up his rhetoric attacks again, especially against the Indians and Chinese.
"It looks like the federal government in the peninsula is not taking steps to stop him from preaching.
"The Sarawak government must be careful not to allow Zakir to spread his controversies in the state.
"Sarawak must exercise its autonomy over immigration and continue the ban against radical elements," Peter said in a statement.
Peter questioned why the federal government has allowed Zakir the freedom to carry on his public preaching that are full of controversies against people of other races and religions.
"Sarawak must protect the interest of its people.
"Use our immigration autonomy and prevent radicals from spreading seeds of disharmony and disunity in Sarawak," he said. – February 22, 2025
