A GROUP of masked thieves armed with parangs made off with RM46,000 in cash after robbing a logistics company’s collection and operations hub in Meru, Klang, on Friday.

The incident was reported by a 21-year-old female clerk from the company at 1:19pm.

According to the North Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner S. Vijaya Rao, the robbery occurred around 12:26pm while the cash was being counted at the facility.

“The crime took place when a blue Perodua Bezza, suspected to have been using a false number plate, arrived at the location. Three suspects, wearing masks and wielding parangs, then stole RM46,000 in cash,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

The police are continuing their efforts to locate the suspects, and the case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code, which covers armed robbery.
