FOLLOWING a significant gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights near the ELITE Highway, several sections of the highway have been closed to all vehicles for safety reasons.
The closure affects the route between Seafield and Bandar Saujana Putra, with traffic being diverted to ensure the safety of motorists.
"Motorists heading south will be redirected to the Seafield Toll Plaza and will re-enter the ELITE Highway via the Bandar Saujana Putra Toll Plaza," a statement from PLUS, the highway operator, explained.
"For those travelling north, they will be instructed to exit at the Bandar Saujana Putra Toll Plaza and rejoin the ELITE Highway at the Seafield Toll Plaza," it added.
In addition to the closures, all access points to the ELITE Highway via the USJ and Putra Heights Toll Plazas have also been shut to traffic.
PLUS has advised all drivers to plan their journeys in advance and to utilise navigation apps such as Waze or Google Maps to avoid congestion and detours.
