THE Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has blacklisted 109 property developers for failing to adhere to established regulations, its Minister Nga Kor Ming announced.
This move is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to safeguard the interests of homebuyers.
Nga emphasised that the decision to blacklist these developers sends a strong message that the ministry will not tolerate non-compliance.
“By blacklisting these developers, we are making it clear that we will not compromise on non-compliance. We are taking firm action to protect the hard-earned money of homebuyers and ensure they receive the homes they deserve,” he stated.
Speaking at the 14th Affordable Housing Project Conference in Putrajaya today, Nga reiterated that the safety and rights of homebuyers remain a top priority for the ministry.
He added the importance of developers adhering to the rules to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the required standards.
“Homebuyer safety remains one of the ministry's key priorities. Developers must comply with regulations to ensure their projects are completed within the stipulated time frame and meet the established standards,” he added.
Among the violations committed by the blacklisted developers were the failure to submit progress reports and the omission of financial audits, including balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements, to the relevant authorities.
Nga also pointed out that developers placed on the blacklist are ineligible to apply for new licences until outstanding fines are settled. “We are committed to upholding regulatory compliance to protect homebuyers' rights and to ensure a fair and transparent housing market for everyone,” he stressed.
He advised prospective homebuyers to check the status of developers' licences on the official KPKT website at https://teduh.kpkt.gov.my/ before committing to any property purchases.

Meanwhile, Nga is set to meet with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, which occurred last Tuesday. The meeting, scheduled today aims to find the best possible solutions to assist those affected by the incident.
Speaking at a press conference after officiating the 14th Annual Affordable Housing Project Conference in Putrajaya, Nga stated, "I will meet with the Prime Minister to discuss the best formula to assist the victims. Once a decision has been made, we will make an announcement immediately."
When questioned about his absence from the site of the incident or the temporary evacuation centre in Subang Jaya, Nga dismissed criticism surrounding his presence.
"There's no need to entertain such criticism. What’s important is that we resolve the people’s issues," he remarked. "We can see that all ministries are providing aid, and I am focused on finding a solution."
Nga's comments come as part of the ongoing efforts to address the aftermath of the fire and ensure the well-being of those impacted. He reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring effective and timely support for the affected communities. - April 7, 2025
