THE plight of Palestinians in Gaza must be viewed as a universal humanitarian cause that goes beyond religion, politics and national boundaries, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
In a Facebook post following a meeting with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Vice-President Nurul Izzah Anwar, Azalina emphasised that support for Gaza is a moral obligation for all of humanity.
“In an increasingly divided world, the struggle for Gaza is not just about national interest or political ideology. It is a fight for all of humankind,” she wrote.
She added that the struggle must continue as a commitment to a fairer and more compassionate world, stating: “This fight is beyond religion, politics or borders. It is a struggle for all of humanity.”

Azalina also congratulated Nurul Izzah on her candidacy for the position of PKR Deputy President, describing it as a significant step towards greater female participation in mainstream politics.
“Congratulations on your nomination as PKR Deputy President. May this be the starting point for more women to enter mainstream politics. You go, girl! And Happy Mother’s Day!” she wrote. - May 12, 2025
