PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed the relevant authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the tragic accident involving a Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) truck in Teluk Intan that claimed multiple lives.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Prime Minister extended his condolences to the families of the FRU personnel who were killed in the crash and called for appropriate support measures to be provided to both the victims and their next of kin.

“I also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in this incident and that all matters be eased,” he said.

The accident occurred on Jalan Chikus–Sungai Lampam earlier this morning and involved a collision between an FRU truck and a lorry carrying sand. Nine FRU officers were confirmed dead, while two others sustained serious injuries.

The crash has drawn national attention, prompting calls for enhanced safety protocols for law enforcement transport units, as well as improved support mechanisms for families affected by service-related tragedies. - May 13, 2025
