A WOMAN who underwent an emergency caesarean section at Cyberjaya Hospital paid about RM130 for her delivery and her baby’s hospital stay, despite a bill that would have come close to RM4,000 without a subsidy for frequent blood donors.

Fatima Zahara, who shared her experience on Threads under the handle @cikennuggets_, said she spent three days in a second-class ward after doctors performed the emergency procedure due to fetal distress.

Her baby subsequently spent a week in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), with Fatima staying alongside the infant for four days.

She said the total bill covered both her treatment and her baby’s hospital stay.

“The total cost would have been almost RM4,000 without the subsidy,” she wrote.

Fatima credited the benefits available to frequent blood donors for bringing her bill down to about RM130, thanking the government for the assistance.

She also expressed her appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Cyberjaya Hospital for caring for her and her baby.

In her post, Fatima clarified that the hospital does not have first-class wards, adding that she had been admitted to a second-class ward during her stay. – October 21, 2026
