SIX vehicles including two trailers were involved in an accident at Kilometre 32.5 of Jalan Klang – Banting near a bank in Banting yesterday.

Kuala Langat Police Chief Mohd Akmalrizal Mohd Radzi said investigations found that the accident occurred at about 12.15 pm when a trailer from Dengkil heading towards Sungai Buaya is believed to have lost control before hitting the right rear of another trailer.

"The collision caused the trailer to move forward and hit several other vehicles at the scene," he said.

Mohd Akmalrizal said that among the vehicles damaged were a Proton X90, Proton Persona, Proton Gen 2 and Toyota Alphard.

"It is understood that the vehicles stopped to give way to the driver of the Proton Gen 2 who wanted to enter a parking space on the shoulder of the road.

"As a result of the accident, all vehicles suffered damage to the front and rear. However, no injuries or fatalities were reported," he said.

Mohd Akmalrizal said the driver of the first trailer was a local man in his 40s who worked with a private transport company in Banting.

"The driver had a valid driving licence and the results of a urine screening test found him to be negative for drugs," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and reckless driving.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting any nearby police station or Kuala Langat District Traffic Investigating Officer Mazrol Mohd Din at 011-18539115 or 03-31872222. – May 15, 2025
