A 44-year-old man was injured and left trapped in his seat after two factory vans collided along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in Sungai Tiram, Penang, early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at around 6.20am and involved a head-on collision between the two vans. The driver, identified as Rosmadi Seleman@Sulaiman, sustained injuries to his right leg as he was pinned in the driver’s compartment.
According to the Penang Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre, emergency services were alerted at 6.20am, with personnel from the Bayan Baru Fire and Rescue Station arriving at the scene within 10 minutes.
“Upon arrival, one victim was found trapped in the driver’s seat of one of the vans,” the spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday.
Firefighters stabilised the vehicle before extricating the victim using specialised rescue equipment.
The man was freed by 6.56am and transported to a nearby hospital in an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) van for further treatment.
The operation was concluded at 7.14am and the case handed over to police for further action. - May 18, 2025
