THE 2025 edition of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’25) has been hailed as a key strategic platform in bolstering Malaysia’s role as a regional leader in maritime and aerospace technology.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today that the event is expected to further expand opportunities for collaboration between the Government and industry players, while positively contributing to national economic growth and technological progress.

“LIMA’25 is a very important strategic platform in strengthening Malaysia's position as a leader in the field of maritime and aerospace technology in the region,” Anwar said in a post on his official Facebook page.

“The hosting of this edition is hoped to continue to open a wider space of cooperation between the Government and the industry, while also having a positive impact on the economic growth and technological advancement of the country.”

In acknowledging the successful delivery of this year’s exhibition, appreciation was extended to those behind the scenes.

“My highest appreciation and congratulations to the Ministry of Defence and all the agencies involved for the success of organising LIMA’25 excellently,” Anwar added.

LIMA’25 is being held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Langkawi from 20 to 24 May, drawing international exhibitors, defence contractors, government agencies and technology innovators from across the globe.

This year’s Lima marks a significant national agenda as part of the government’s strategic commitment to position Malaysia as a global hub for maritime and aerospace industries.

This year’s event brings together 860 exhibitors from 24 countries, with 426 international and 434 local companies. The five-day exhibition, which ends on Saturday, is themed “Today’s Innovation, Tomorrow’s Achievements”.

Lima remains one of the largest maritime and aerospace exhibitions in South-East Asia since its inception in 1991. - May 22, 2025
