MCA Youth has accused the Democratic Action Party (DAP) of behaving like a "wolf in sheep’s clothing", following remarks by DAP Vice-President Syahredzan Johan suggesting that MCA should withdraw from the Unity Government.
MCA Youth Information Chief Neow Choo Seong said Syahredzan’s comments reflect arrogance and an inability to accept constructive criticism made in the public interest.
"Thank you, DAP — the wolf in sheep’s clothing — for removing your mask and revealing your true colours as instigators who sow division solely to strengthen yourselves," Choo Seong wrote in a Facebook post on Monday.
He claimed DAP has become increasingly self-serving since gaining power, labelling the party as aggressive and politically predatory.
Syahredzan had earlier stated that it would be better for MCA to leave the coalition, citing continuous criticisms of the government from MCA leaders, particularly party president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, whom he accused of using inaccurate facts.
In response, Choo Seong referenced a recent comment by Sarawak’s Deputy Premier Dr Sim Kui Hian, who remarked that Sarawak’s enduring political stability is due to DAP never being part of the state government.
"That statement hits the nail on the head — DAP only knows how to divide, not unite," he said.
He further questioned why DAP appeared emotionally "triggered" by MCA’s efforts to raise public concerns and defend national issues.
"Why is DAP so emotionally affected when MCA speaks up for the people, champions national concerns, and voices the truth?" he asked.
Among the issues MCA has publicly raised are the sale of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) shares by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the cost of the MyKiosk programme, and the pricing of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.
"Is it wrong for MCA to defend the people? If DAP cannot help or solve problems, they should just go home, relax and sleep.
"The people have MCA and Barisan Nasional. We will always put them first," Choo Seong added.
He also expressed appreciation to UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh for being one of the first to condemn Syahredzan’s remarks. - June 2, 2025
