POLICE have confirmed that the body found in the lift shaft of a partially constructed condominium in Bangsar is that of the missing British man - Jordan Johnson-Doyle, 25, reported missing in Malaysia.
His remains were discovered at a construction site in Lorong Maarof, Bangsar on Wednesday.
City police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said a post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was a chest injury sustained from a fall from height.
Johnson-Doyle's relative identified the victim based on a tattoo on his body.
Rusdi said police were informed at 4.30pm yesterday that the body of a man was found in an elevator shaft on the ground floor of a construction site in Bangsar.
An autopsy held today revealed that the cause of death was a chest injury resulting from a fall from height.
Brickfields district police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood earlier said the victim's family had arrived in Malaysia to identify the body.
Johnson-Doyle was last seen on 27 May in the Bangsar area and was subsequently reported missing after his family was unable to contact him by phone. It was also reported that his social media accounts had been inactive for several days, prompting further concern.
The body was discovered face down in the lower-level lift shaft of the construction site. According to sources familiar with the scene, some of the deceased’s clothing had been dislodged, suggesting he may have suffered a fall or other trauma, though no official cause of death has yet been released.
The case has drawn considerable attention given the location and the international profile of the missing person.
Police are continuing their investigation and have not ruled out any possibilities pending the outcome of forensic analysis.
Police also urged the public against speculating on the case and called for those with information on Johnson-Doyle’s death to come forward and assist in the investigation. - June 5, 2025
