TWO young girls allegedly subjected to abuse and neglect by their mother and her partner have been rescued from a home in Kampung Batu 12, Puchong, following a tip-off from concerned neighbours who could no longer bear the sound of their cries.
Village head Muhammad Aidil Zailani, 31, said the initial report was made to Talian Kasih by a neighbour before he was informed of the situation.
“The neighbours couldn’t bear hearing the screams or watching the abuse. They contacted Talian Kasih first, and only then was I informed of the incident,” said Aidil.
Aidil witnessed the raid on the house, which was occupied by the woman, her boyfriend and her two daughters. Authorities found the siblings living in a filthy environment, deprived of food and proper care.
“I received a video recording from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) showing a teenage girl confessing that she had been abused by her mother, and that her younger sister was abused by the mother’s boyfriend. After viewing the video, I lodged a police report immediately to get them help,” he said.
“I also contacted the religious authorities as I was informed the couple was not legally married.”
The same day, enforcement teams raided the house and successfully rescued the two girls, who were then taken to hospital for further examination.
Aidil said checks revealed the couple had only recently moved into the village a few months ago.
“I never imagined such abuse would take place in our village. I am grateful that the neighbours were alert and took the initiative to report it to both the residents’ committee and the authorities for immediate action.”
“This incident highlights the importance of a community that pays attention to its surroundings. We are committed to acting swiftly whenever there are social issues such as poverty or abuse,” he added.
Aidil expressed hope that the sisters would now receive proper care and that their well-being would be safeguarded.
Yesterday, it was reported that the woman and her boyfriend, aged 37 and 42 respectively, were arrested by police after the JKM lodged a report at 12.43pm. - June 7, 2025
