KUALA LUMPUR – Tough action will be taken against traders who abuse or rent their licences to foreigners, warned Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) today.
In a statement today, DBKL said errant traders will face seizures, cancellation of business licences and have their agreement contracts with the council terminated if they are found to have hired or allowed their businesses to be run by foreigners.
“Licence-holders in Kuala Lumpur, including in the Selayang wholesale market, have to adhere to the Market Licensing (WPKL) 2016 bylaw.”
Errant traders will also be blacklisted from applying for new licences.
Recently, Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa reaffirmed that foreigners are not allowed to work at the Selayang wholesale market despite letters of appeal. – The Vibes, December 23, 2020
