A FEMALE tourist from New Zealand was injured after falling over six metres at the Kanching Rainforest Waterfall near Rawang earlier today.

According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, an emergency call was received at 11.52am, prompting the dispatch of an eight-member rescue team from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station.

“Upon arrival, our team found a 52-year-old New Zealand national who had fallen from a height of over six metres at the waterfall,” said Assistant Director of Operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar.

He added that the woman sustained injuries to her leg, left arm, and spine, but remained conscious throughout the rescue.

The victim was stabilised at the scene and successfully evacuated from the waterfall site at 2.15pm before being transported to Selayang Hospital for further medical treatment. - June 28, 2025
