SELANGOR police have stated they are prepared to reopen investigations into the 1 April gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, should any fresh information or evidence come to light.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the case has for now been classified as ‘No Further Action’ (NFA), following an investigation that found no criminal elements.
“The investigation revealed no indication of sabotage or criminal intent, so we have categorised it as NFA,” he said during a press briefing at the Selangor Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
“However, if there is new evidence or testimony that can assist the police, we are ready to reopen the investigation at any time.”
Police have previously confirmed that the explosion was not the result of foul play, sabotage, or negligence.
Hussein said the conclusion was based on findings from a technical investigation into the underground gas pipeline explosion.
He added that the construction of nearby shop lots and the replacement of sewer pipes in the area had adhered to the guidelines issued by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), the Department of Environment (JAS), and Petronas.
The police are continuing to welcome information from any members of the public who may have relevant knowledge of the incident. - July 1, 2025
