THE MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said that the Op Sohor currently being conducted by the MACC also received the cooperation of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
According to its Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, they received various information from Tunku Ismail regarding the syndicate.
"I would like to inform you that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Johor was very cooperative (with the MACC) in this matter and wants this to be eradicated.
"We (MACC) also received a lot of information from Tunku Ismail's network," he said.
He said this when met by the media after officiating the Anti-Corruption Student Convention (KOMAWAR) at Multimedia University today.
Azam explained that until now the syndicate is believed to be concentrated in the southern part of the country, and no new arrests have been made.
"So far, we have not seen any evidence and it has been concentrated in the southern part of the country," he added.
It was reported that 10 individuals aged 30 to 55, including three officers and two former senior military officers and an Indonesian citizen, were arrested around the Klang Valley through Op Sohor by the MACC Intelligence Division in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Tactical Squad (ACTS).
The raid after a year of intelligence also led to the seizure of more than RM63,000 in cash, drug packages, weighing and measuring equipment, liquor and imitation weapons. - August 16, 2025
