DEWAN Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul has confirmed that he has yet to receive any formal motion from Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin seeking to refer Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the Parliamentary Committee of Privileges.

“Not yet. He (Muhyiddin) said it, and I said we haven’t received it,” Johari told reporters briefly after officiating the National Information Dissemination Centre (Nadi) in Pekan Ijok on Saturday.

The matter stems from Muhyiddin’s demand for an apology from Anwar over the Prime Minister’s alleged claim that the Pagoh MP was defending foreign nationals in the ongoing issue surrounding the targeted subsidy for RON95 petrol.

Muhyiddin previously stated that should the Prime Minister fail to issue an apology, he would submit a formal motion to the Dewan Rakyat to refer Anwar to the committee for breach of parliamentary conduct. - August 23, 2025
