THE fifth day of the Penghargaan Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) rollout proceeded smoothly, with total recorded sales reaching RM106.1 million and involving 1.7 million recipients as of 9.30pm yesterday, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
“The transaction success rate remained stable at 99.5 percent, consistent with yesterday’s performance,” the ministry said in a statement issued today.
It added that system upgrades and expanded processing capacity over the past four days had contributed significantly to the programme’s operational stability.
Launched on 31 August in conjunction with Malaysia’s National Day celebrations, the one-off SARA credit of RM100 is available to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above. The credit remains valid until 31 December 2025 and can be redeemed at over 7,300 participating retail outlets nationwide.
To date, more than 6.6 million individuals — or approximately 30 percent of all eligible recipients — have used their SARA credit to purchase essential items, with cumulative spending reaching RM425.2 million across the country.
