NaniRoc denies links to Nik Nazmi khalwat case, condemns online slurs
Host Nani Roslan says she is not the woman detained in the alleged khalwat incident involving Bersama leader Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad - October 18, 2026

PRESENTER Nani Roslan, better known as NaniRoc, has denied being the woman detained in an alleged khalwat (close proximity) incident involving former Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, saying online speculation has damaged her reputation.

In a video statement posted on Instagram, Nani said she had initially chosen not to comment on the controversy but decided to speak out after her name, photographs and videos circulated on social media, accompanied by what she described as baseless allegations.

“I am not that woman,” she said.

Nani said she was particularly upset by sexually explicit remarks, insults and comments that she felt undermined her dignity as a woman.

She also denied claims that she was connected to any party alleged to have orchestrated the incident.

Nani said her work as a professional host had involved presenting programmes and events attended by people from various backgrounds, including politicians, but stressed that her professional engagements should not be interpreted as support for any political position.

She claimed to have faced career setbacks, including being blacklisted, having invitations cancelled at the last minute and losing hosting assignments because of perceived associations with certain political parties.

Nani also said her involvement as a podcast host had ended on Sept 30, 2026.

Urging the public to exercise greater responsibility when commenting on viral issues, she said freedom of expression should not be used to spread defamatory claims or make accusations without evidence.

She warned that such conduct could carry legal consequences and called on social media users to avoid damaging other people’s reputations based on speculation. - October 18, 2026
