THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today confirmed that it is continuing its investigation into allegations involving the Member of Parliament for Pagoh, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, in relation to comments made about RON95 fuel subsidies.
In a statement issued on 9 September, the Commission said initial checks had already been carried out on viral content circulating across social media platforms, with cooperation from platform providers.
However, MCMC stated, “We are still awaiting further information from TikTok to complete the investigation.”
To date, the findings gathered have been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for review and further instruction.
“MCMC will continue working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the investigation is conducted with full integrity and in accordance with existing legal provisions,” the statement read.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to transparency and due process in handling cases involving public interest and digital platform accountability. - September 9, 2025
