KUALA LUMPUR – Sg Buloh Hospital management will only take action against employees who do not comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Health Ministry, not those who tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement today, the hospital’s director, Dr Kuldip Kaur Prem Singh, said the hospital will issue show cause letters to those who have been caught repeatedly violating the SOPs – an initiative taken to ensure compliance.
He said management is aware that a person can contract the virus inadvertently, adding that it does not single out infected staff members, but instead provide them with support and care.
His statement came after a news site reported that disciplinary action could be taken against the hospital’s employees if they are found to have been infected with Covid-19.
As of Monday, the ministry had confirmed that 80 healthcare workers at the hospital tested positive for the virus. – The Vibes, December 26, 2020
