THE Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will summon the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Office of the Registrar General of Courts to explain certain issues raised in the Auditor General's (LKAN) Report series 3/2025 released last Monday.
Its chairman, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin, said the Office of the Registrar General of Courts would be summoned regarding the remarks involving the bail or e-bail payment system, while the MOF would be summoned to provide explanations regarding the management of government vehicles under concession agreements.
"The date for both proceedings will be determined later," she told a press conference with PAC members in Parliament today.
LKAN 3/2025 released last Monday revealed the unsatisfactory performance of government vehicle management under concession companies, with an estimated total of RM54.51 million in unimposed penalties.
According to the LKAN report, the vehicles were delivered late but no claims or penalty charges were imposed on the concessionaires involved.
An audit analysis based on data in the concession vehicle management system found that as of December 31 last year, 6,028 vehicles were delivered late by between one and 508 days, exceeding the delivery period of 60 working days from the date of order.
Meanwhile, Mas Ermieyati said that for this year, the PAC had presented 14 statements, with four more reports proposed to be presented for this third meeting.
She also informed that the PAC would conduct a working visit to monitor the status of the construction of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) at the Boustead Naval Shipyard at the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Headquarters, Lumut, Perak.
In June 2023, the PAC took about two hours to personally see the status of the construction of the Second-Generation Patrol Ship, followed by the presentation of two PAC report statements in the Dewan Rakyat, namely on October 9 and November 14, 2023. - October 8, 2025
