PAS is expected to announce its candidates for the 17th Sabah Election (PRN) in two weeks.

Its vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said that so far the selection of candidates is still at the discussion stage.

"We expect to contest in 12 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats including Karambunai and Tanjung Keranat.

"Discussions with Bersatu are still ongoing because there are several seats that overlap. God willing, we will announce the candidates in two weeks," he said.

So far, the feedback received on the party has been positive, especially among young voters, he said.

"We are aiming to win at least one seat as a symbolic 'breakthrough' since we have no seats in Sabah," he said.

The Election Commission (EC) had set November 15 as the nomination day, followed by November 25 as the early voting day and November 29 as the regular voting day for the PRN17.

EC Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun reportedly said that the election writ has also been issued. - October 19, 2025
