A SINGAPORE-registered car dislodged and damaged a petrol pump at a Shell station in Johor yesterday after the driver apparently drove off with the nozzle still attached.

This caused the pump to be tugged forcefully to one side and dislodging it.

The incident allegedly occurred about 10.15pm at the station along the Skudai Highway, reported Singapore-based Mothership.

The entire incident was caught on CCTV and witnesses said they heard a loud noise before realising what happened.

They said their greatest fear at that time was that the pump may explode.

Two station staff were seen running to the car, while the driver also exited.

Mothership has since reached out to Shell for comments. - October 19, 2025
