A WOMAN went on a rampage while holding a knife and broke the rear window of a car in Taman Kemuning, Kulim, last night.
Kulim District Police Chief, Superintendent Syamsul Sinring, said they received information at 10:30 pm from the complainant, a 29-year-old factory worker.
He said that at the time of the incident, the complainant was at a burger stall in Taman Kemuning when an unknown woman near his Perodua Myvi suddenly came and broke the rear window and taillight of the car.
“The area was open and free. The complainant had parked the car on the shoulder of the road while waiting to buy a burger, and suddenly the suspect came and broke the rear window and taillight of the car using a knife held in both hands.
“There were public witnesses who were at the scene who saw the incident,” he said in a statement today.
Following that, policemen on duty arrived at the scene and detained the female suspect for further action.
“Results of the investigation found that the 33-year-old suspect is a mental patient who has received psychiatric treatment at the Kulim Hospital since 2012 until now and has a mental patient card.
“The last time the suspect came for treatment was in June, and was arrested and taken to Kulim Hospital with the help of the police for treatment.
“The investigation also found that the suspect was not married and initially lived with her mother in Taman Angsana, but because she could not stand her behaviour, the mother left with her other child in Butterworth, Penang,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code. – August 11, 2026
