MOF post on 10 benefits for M40 in 2026 goes viral

A FACEBOOK post by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday outlining 10 benefits for the M40 (middle 40%) next year under Budget 2026 has since gone viral.

In the post, MOF said the government will continue to ensure the welfare of the M40 group is maintained through financial aid and subsidies, various individual tax exemptions, and facilitating Hajj arrangements for qualified individuals.

The post has garnered over 1,700 likes and shared over a thousand times.

The benefits outlined in the post are:

1. RM100 Sara for every Malaysian aged 18-years and above to be credited in February 2026.

2. Targeted electricity subsidy which states that 85 per cent of consumers are not affected by the tariff hike with some even enjoying reductions in their bills.

3. Income tax relief of up to RM1,000 for vaccination expenses approved by the Ministry of Health for self, spouse or children.

4. Income tax relief for early childhood education of up to RM3,000 on fees for children up to 12-years at registered daycares or transit centres.

5. Income tax relief of up to RM10,000 for rehabilitation treatment of children with autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and other specific learning disabilities.

6. The scope of relief for life insurance premium payments or life takaful contributions will be expanded to include children.

7. RM150 preschool aid for all students regardless of parents' income. RM800 million has been allocated for this.

8. RM4,000 grant to purchase a new national car to replace old cars exceeding 20 years.

9. First-time homebuyers will continue to receive full exemptions on the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) and loan agreement for homes priced up to RM500,000. The initiative will be extended to 31 December 2027.

10. An increase in Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal limit from RM3,000 to RM10,000 to perform the Hajj. - October 23, 2025
