AN 18-year-old Chinese national was found dead on Wednesday after reportedly falling from the 18th floor of a condominium in Bandar Baru Nilai.

The student, who was enrolled at a private college in the area, was discovered at the fifth-floor level around 7 a.m.

Local residents who witnessed the incident contacted the emergency hotline 999.

“Local residents who saw the man then contacted the emergency line 999,” said Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim, Chief of Nilai District Police.

Preliminary investigations revealed no external injuries apart from ear bleeding and body rashes.

“Initial investigations found that the victim lived in the housing area with a fellow countryman,”

Abdul Malik added no personal belongings were reported missing. Investigators also observed that the floor at the scene was wet, likely because the victim had urinated during the fall.

The body has been sent to Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

“So far, the case has been classified as a sudden death, and no criminal elements have been detected,” the superintendent confirmed.

Authorities have urged the public not to speculate on the incident out of respect for the family and to avoid disrupting ongoing investigations.

“Members of the public who have any information may contact the nearest police station or the Nilai District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 06-7902222,” he added. - November 12, 2025
