THE Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office today dismissed a viral WhatsApp allegation involving one of its officers, claiming it was “clearly malicious and politically motivated”.

“The unwarranted allegations made on WhatsApp while the menteri besar was tabling the Selangor Budget 2026 in the state assembly are slanderous, misleading, and made without a factual basis,” it said in a statement today.

It also said that the source behind the messages was unknown and irresponsible.

"The person implicated individual will be lodging a report with the authorities as a form of accountability," it said.

It added that the administration will remain focused on state development rather than “immature politics through the creation of malicious, reckless and false perceptions”.

The administrator of a new WhatsApp group - 'MB Selangor' - made up of several Selangor state assemblymen and state leaders had yesterday asked Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari to address questions pertaining to the alleged wealth amassed by one of his aides.

The administrator identified as 'Madani' has questioned how this particular aide afforded a bungalow worth RM3 million, leads a lavish lifestyle and affords luxurious overseas trips with his family, staying in five-star hotels.

'Madani' also attached several photos of the leader while on holiday abroad with his family.

Amiruddin was also asked to explain why one person has been appointed to numerous top posts in state agencies. – November 16, 2025
