Government announces slight hike in RON97 and diesel prices amid global oil surge
Retail fuel prices adjusted from 20 to 26 November 2025 in Peninsular Malaysia - November 19, 2025

THE Malaysian Government has announced a marginal increase of three sen per litre in the retail prices of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia, effective from 20 November to 26 November 2025, following a recent rise in global oil prices.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that RON97 will now retail at RM3.28 per litre, while diesel will be priced at RM3.10 per litre. Prices for non-subsidised RON95 petrol remain unchanged at RM2.65 per litre, with subsidised RON95 under the BUDI95 programme continuing at RM1.99 per litre. Diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will also remain steady at RM2.15 per litre.

The ministry emphasised that retail prices are determined using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula and will continue to be reviewed in line with fluctuations in global oil markets. Officials assured that maintaining price stability remains the Government’s top priority.

“The Government will continue monitoring global oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure people’s welfare remains intact,” the Ministry of Finance said in a statement issued from Putrajaya on 19 November 2025.

This adjustment marks the latest move in a series of periodic fuel price revisions intended to balance market realities with public affordability, particularly for essential transportation and logistics sectors. - November 19, 2025
