THE Dewan Rakyat is expected to scrutinise a broad slate of policy issues today, from the punctual delivery of welfare assistance to the feasibility of positioning Sabak Bernam as a pioneer hub for Malaysia’s recreational vehicle tourism industry.
According to the Order Paper published on Parliament’s official portal, Cha Kee Chin (PH–Rasah) will press the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development for assurances that welfare schemes such as Bantuan Kanak-Kanak (BKK), the allowance for persons with disabilities (OKU) and assistance for senior citizens are disbursed on schedule.
He also seeks details on targeted programmes to support single mothers and urban poor families in the Rasah constituency.
During the same question session, Kalam Salan (PN–Sabak Bernam) will ask the Minister of Housing and Local Government to outline the government’s efforts to expand RV-based tourism, including the development of dedicated RV parks to serve both domestic and international visitors. Kalam is also seeking clarity on whether Sabak Bernam will be considered as the pilot location for such a facility.
R. Yuneswaran (PH–Segamat) will pose a question to the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry on strategies to ensure that Malaysia-based firms can access artificial intelligence chips manufactured in the United States and China, given their growing importance in industrial competitiveness.
Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari (PH–Sungai Petani) will turn his attention to border security, asking the Home Minister to detail improvements to customs baggage inspections at all international and domestic airports to boost efficiency and curb smuggling.
The sitting will then proceed with the committee-stage debate on the Supply Bill (Budget 2026) covering several ministries.
The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament runs for 35 days and is scheduled to conclude on 4 December. - November 26, 2025
