VOTER participation in the 17th Sabah General Election continued to climb steadily, with turnout reaching 51.19 per cent as of 2pm, according to the Election Commission’s latest hourly update.
The commission reported that just over half of the 1.7 million eligible ordinary voters had cast their ballots by mid-afternoon, signalling strong engagement as polling enters its decisive phase.
Early voting, conducted on Wednesday, saw a significantly higher participation rate, with 92.5 per cent of the 17,615 registered early voters turning out.
The Election Commission is expected to issue further updates as Sabahans head to polling stations ahead of the 5pm closing time. - November 29, 2025
