CELEBRATIONS erupted when a display screen showed Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leading by 29 seats at the Chief Minister's official residence in Sri Gaya.
GRS supporters and media personnel were seen gathering in the area to await the preliminary results, followed by the official results of the Sabah State Election (PRN).
So far, GRS is in the top position, leaving other parties with Parti Warisan (Warisan) obtaining 15 seats and Barisan Nasional (BN) with six seats, based on unofficial results received as of 10pm tonight.
According to PKR secretary general Fuziah Salleh, the party's central elections committee operations director Amirudin Shari is holding discussions with GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on the formation of a new Sabah government.
“I was informed we have the numbers to form the government tonight and we will be a part of the new Sabah government,” she told a press conference in Kota Kinabalu tonight.- November 29, 2025
