GABUNGAN Rakyat Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was sworn in as Sabah chief minister for a second term.

He took his oath of office before the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

"Praise be to God. I am grateful to Allah. I have been sworn in as chief minister. Thank you.

"We will meet later in the morning," Hajiji said when met leaving the palace grounds.

GRS, led by Hajiji, won 29 of the 55 seats it contested.

Hajiji retained Sulaman after polling 10,639 votes and defeating four other contenders.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said Parti Warisan won 25 seats, followed by Barisan Nasional with six.

Independent candidates secured five seats, United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) won three, Star Sabah took two, while Perikatan Nasional (PN), Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) won one seat each.

A total of 1,148,476 voters cast their ballots, representing a 64.35 per cent turnout. – November 30, 2025
