A MAN has died after being shot in Taman Mesra Indah, Klang, in an incident that police say is under active investigation.

The victim is believed to be a local resident, although his age has not yet been disclosed.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the Klang Selatan District Police Headquarters control centre received a call regarding the shooting at 8.35 pm on Saturday.

“A shooting is believed to have occurred in the area, and the call was made by a member of the public reporting the incident,” he stated on Sunday.

Authorities have confirmed that the motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which relates to murder. Police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.

“Any information relating to this incident can be relayed to Senior Investigating Officer, Assistant Superintendent Mohd Harman Mohd Hanif, at 019-2100334.

The shooting drew attention on social media after a video circulated showing the victim slumped inside a four-wheel drive vehicle.

The footage, which has been widely shared online, appears to show the man immediately after the shooting.
