UMNO leaders and members are reminded not to take the party's election performance, with only 30 seats won by Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15), to the latest, six seats in the 17th Sabah State Election (GE17), lightly.
Wanita UMNO chief, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, described the results as not just numbers, but rather a clear message from the people.
She said, UMNO, including Wanita, needs to reassess its work in less than two years to face GE16 and can no longer take anything for granted.
"If we choose to interpret this result recklessly, we may be opening the way for the same mistakes to be repeated in the next GE16.
This wave cannot be allowed to continue unchecked; it must be stopped, and the numbers we have today must not be reduced at all. We need to put a stop to it and start the revival.
"In Parliament, make these 30 seats the catalyst and foundation for our revival. We not only need to defend them but we need to double them," she said.
She said this when delivering her keynote speech at the Wanita UMNO 2025 General Assembly, today. – January 15, 2026
