BARISAN Nasional (BN) recorded unofficial victories in both the Kinabatangan parliamentary and the Lamag state legislative assembly (DUN) constituencies.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar won with a majority of 14,214 votes, after 111 out of 119 voting channels were counted.

Meanwhile, Mohd Ismail Ayob from BN also secured an unofficial victory in the Lamag state constituency seat with a majority of 5,681 votes, after 21 out of 32 voting channels were counted.

Dr Asyraf Wajdi also shared the election developments on his official Facebook.

Both seats were vacant following the death of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar on December 5 last year. – January 24, 2026
