THE Government today unveiled a new Dashboard on the Status of the Implementation of Matters under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), a digital platform designed to present clear, structured and real‑time information on the progress of negotiations, implementation and legal background related to the rights of Sabah and Sarawak under the foundational agreement.
The announcement was made at a press conference following the launch in Parliament.
Deputy Prime Minister II Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that, until now, information on MA63’s implementation had been scattered across multiple outlets, including print media and parliamentary records, without a single comprehensive and easily accessible public reference.
“The MA63 Dashboard has been established as an integrated monitoring platform that allows information to be delivered with greater accuracy, orderliness and in real time, in accordance with the principles of transparency and the spirit of reform emphasised by the MADANI Government,” he said.
He added that the platform enables the public to view all activities relating to the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department as well as reporting on the status of MA63 negotiations.
Present at the launch was the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Sabah and Sarawak Affairs, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
Fadillah highlighted that, to date, 29 matters have been discussed under official channels, with 13 of those already implemented—including nine resolved under the current government.
“However, 16 matters remain under discussion. These stem from historical issues where rights that should have been accorded to Sabah and Sarawak have not yet been realised,” he said, noting that some issues required detailed negotiation and revision of constitutional provisions.
Fadillah emphasised that the core purpose of implementing MA63 is to ensure that Malaysia remains a cohesive, stable and united nation, with robust and mutually understood relationships between the federal government and the states.
“We need unity, stability and harmony. Cooperation between the Federation, Sabah and Sarawak must be grounded in law—whether the Federal Constitution, state legislation or the original terms of the agreement,” he said.
According to government statements, the new dashboard will be accessible through the official portal of the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division within the Prime Minister’s Department, offering an authoritative source of verified information on the 29 key claims under MA63 and aiding in reducing political bias and misinformation. - January 28, 2026
