On December 30, Muhyiddin announced his resignation as PN chairman - February 22, 2026

TAN Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was named as Perikatan Nasional (PN) deputy chairman, while Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang will no longer remain on the coalition's Supreme Council.

On December 30, Muhyiddin announced his resignation as PN chairman — effective January 1 — after leading the coalition since August 7, 2020.

Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the other deputy positions remain unchanged.

 Speaking to reporters following the coalition's extraordinary Supreme Council meeting at Pas headquarters today, he said Hadi will now only be in the presidential council.

Earlier, Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar from Pas was appointed PN's new chairman. – February 22, 2026
