TWO shots were fired at the Proton X70 SUV, the Commander of the Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) was travelling in early this morning.

Kedah Police Chief, Datuk Adzli Abu Shah, said, however, Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir escaped unhurt in the incident at 5.40 am.

The MCBA officer's car was shot at by two unknown suspects on a motorcycle while Mohd Nasaruddin was on his way to the mosque to perform Subuh prayers.

"One shot hit the left front passenger door, while the other hit the right back door. The suspects then fled towards an industrial area nearby. The victim was not injured," Adzli told a press conference today, as reported.

The motorcycle lights were not turned on at the time, and the suspects were wearing full-face helmets.

The shooting took place about a kilometre from the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS).

Mohd Nasaruddin was appointed as the Bukit Kayu Hitam commander in January 2025.

"Police are now investigating and also reviewing CCTV footage in the area," added Adzli. - February 25, 2026
