INDIVIDUAL and non-individual taxpayers can submit the Return Form (BN) for the 2025 Remuneration Year and the 2025 Assessment Year via e-Filing starting tomorrow.

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) in a statement said that starting tomorrow, the identity card number will be set as the identification number for MyKad, MyPR and MyKAS holders for tax purposes, including to access the MyTax portal.

It said that military or police personnel who use their military or police numbers to access the MyTax portal will need to re-register their individual digital certificate using their public identity card number.

"Select the MyKad/MyPR/MyKAS number and input the identity card number when logging in and follow the further instructions on the screen," the statement said, today.

Based on the statement, the IRB recommends that taxpayers use the e-Filing service via the MyTax portal https://mytax.hasil.gov.my or via the official IRB portal https://www.hasil.gov.my > MyTax > ezHasil Services > e-Filing.

"Tax agents should use the Tax Agent e-filing System (TAeF) platform, which can be accessed via the MyTax portal for this purpose.

"Taxpayers should ensure that they have the relevant role in MyTax to enable the submission of BN via e-Filing," he said.

Failure to submit BN and report actual income within the allowed period may result in taxpayers being subject to action under subsection 112(1) of the Income Tax Act (ACP) 1967

"Taxpayers are advised to make early preparations by collecting documents such as income statements, receipts, invoices and other income tax-related documents to file BN for the Year of Assessment 2025," it said. – February 28, 2026
